What You’ll Be Doing?

As a Hygiene Warehouse Operative, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring smooth, efficient processes while upholding our reputation for exceptional service. Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Carrying out deep cleaning of warehouse equipment, racking, and high-touch surfaces on a scheduled basis.
• Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies and PPE to ensure continuous compliance.
• Conducting regular audits of hygiene standards and reporting any non-conformances.
• Safely handling and disposing of waste, including recycling and hazardous materials, in line with company policy.
• Supporting pest control measures by maintaining clean and tidy storage areas.
• Assisting with the cleaning and sanitising of staff communal areas (e.g., kitchens, restrooms, break rooms).
• Operating cleaning machinery (e.g., floor scrubbers, industrial vacuums) as required.
• Completing hygiene checklists and logs to evidence compliance for audits.
• Responding promptly to spillages or contamination incidents to minimise risk.
• Liaising with warehouse and production teams to coordinate cleaning schedules around operational needs.
• Suggesting improvements to hygiene processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting the warehouse team to assemble and complete all orders on time and in full for primary and secondary distribution routes (where applicable). Identifying deficits and taking appropriate action to ensure the deficit is evenly distributed across all customers.
• Communicating progress on tasks with team members, highlighting operational issues to the Team Manager or Managers (where applicable).

Essential Ingredients

• Previous experience as a Hygiene Operative ideally gained in a food environment.
• Understanding of requirements of Hygiene & Food Safety Legislation
• Effective manual handling techniques training undertaken
• Good communication skills- a team player, listens to others, respects differences in personal style and beliefs
• Can prioritise and manage own workload to ensure tasks are delivered as promised
• Decision making skills – makes effective decisions in areas affecting own job
