The Recipe

To build a broad knowledge of Warburtons IT networks, assets, applications and ways of working with technology, and work with our Cyber Security Manager, Cyber Security Engineer (who will act as the Analyst’s mentor) and IT Operations team members to protect Warburtons data, systems and networks utilising cyber security tools and techniques.

The Analyst will work to embed new and existing solutions designed to improve Warburtons Cyber Security and build their own skills and experiences.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

  • Support the Cyber Security Engineer and Cyber Security Manager in delivering elements of the Warburtons Cyber Security Roadmap contributing to assigned workstreams and learning core security principles.
  • Assist in assessing Warburtons’ security needs by helping gather data, reviewing system configurations, and supporting the implementation and maintenance of security controls under supervision.
  • Conduct routine vulnerability scans, collate results, assist in validating findings, and support tracking of remediation activity. Participate in the preparation for third party penetration testing.
  • Support monitoring and reporting of compliance with security policies, procedures, and tools. Assist with everyday security operations, including alert review and initial investigation steps under guidance.
  • Support the maintenance and rehearsal of incident response plans by supporting tests, recording results, and helping prepare materials for exercises.
  • Ensure end users have good Cyber Security Awareness through delivery of training modules on our learning platform, phishing tests and awareness campaigns.
  • Lead or support at least one defined project to address a genuine business need, that improves ways of working and aligns with the team’s priorities.
  • Take ownership of personal development ensuring a personal development plan is in place that demonstrates progression in the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours for the role. This includes successful completion of any relevant professional qualifications.

  • Degree and/or appropriate professional qualifications in relevant subjects
  • Strong communication skills with the ability and willingness to support and collaborate across teams
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Willing to study professional qualification as required
  • Self-starter with confidence working both independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong IT literacy and experience using MS Office suite
  • Works effectively with peers and stakeholders, managing expectations appropriately
