The Recipe

We have an opportunity for a Buildings & Services Manager with experience of working in the fast-paced world of FMCG. In this role you will lead and manage the company building programme working with Senior Management to deliver on budget and in time.  Working alongside our Head of Project Engineering and as part of our Central Engineering team you and your team will be supporting on several new build and existing expansion plans for our Bakery and Distribution sites throughout the UK.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

You will have excellent project management skills, and an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal (project team/sites) and external stakeholders (contractors/consultants) to ensure success. 

You’ll be responsible for projects from the preparation of feasibility budgets, capex budgets and project schedules, right through to project completion. You will build an understanding of the relevant legislation (contract, Health and Safety legislation; CDM 2015; Planning and Building Regulation Approvals), to ensure all regulations are adhered to throughout the duration of the projects.

Continuous improvement is championed, with the opportunity to drive improvements of processes and manage multiple construction projects that will help Warburtons deliver effective operations.

Essential Ingredients

  • You’ll be a member of or working towards CIOB or an equivalent body
  • Significant experience of building and construction projects within a multi-site FMCG environment
  • An understanding of the Planning and Building Regulations application process, understanding design footprints and space planning layouts
  • Ability to use design and planning tools including Autocad / Revit / Project
  • Numerical and Analytical skills, able to prepare, manage and monitor budgets and CAPEX
  • Excellent project management skills, able to organise and prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met
