Finance Business Partner - Distribution

The Recipe
To be a key influencer and advisor to the senior distribution team.
To drive strategic and operational improvement in the distribution controllable cost base.
Key Accountabilities and Measures
- Partner with the key senior distribution stakeholders to ensure delivery of the financial framework.
- Set budgets and influence to drive improvements in financial performance.
- Define key non-financial reporting measures, support development and own the governance, e.g.:
- Vehicle utilisation
- Labour efficiency (driver hours)
- Trunked volume/distance
- Finance lead on national/strategic distribution projects, i.e.:
- Steering group participation
- Set the distribution financial strategy
- Union negotiations
- Ensure accuracy of operating costs included within NPD/commercial evaluations.
- Identify opportunities and influence the delivery of efficiency opportunities relating to product sourcing and distribution infrastructure.
- Lead the distribution capex ideation/pipeline process and project evaluations.
- People development:
- Line management and leadership of Finance Manager Team
- Commitment to CPD
- Support the development of the wider Finance team
- Balance sheet management, reporting and controls
Essential Ingredients
- Qualified CIMA (or equivalent) accountant with at least 3 years post qualification experience, ideally within a FMCG business
- Operational and strategic manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated positive performance in business partnering with senior stakeholders (financial and operational)
- Able to identify and influence delivery of strategic cost saving initiatives (e.g. infrastructure)
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Commitment to people development
- Proficient IT skills (Excel, SAP).
