The Recipe

Are you a hands-on Reward Manager with experience of working within a large HR team and managing aspects of Compensation & Benefits, spanning across day-to-day operational support, and delivering strategic projects - available for a 9-12-month fixed term contract? 

At Warburtons we work in a fast-paced, flexible, and challenging FMCG environment and in this role, you will be Reward focused encompassing aspects of finding HR data driven insights and trends. You will have an internal and external focus in finding innovative solutions across Reward and the broader HR team.

Our Reward & Insights Manager, working alongside the Head of Reward as part of our wider Reward, HRIS & HR Team, will lead and develop the delivery and implementation of compensation and benefits projects and policies. This isn’t a typical Reward Manager role, your scope will reach from Bakery to Board Room as the first point of contact for a large and complex Stakeholder group therefore you will be able to investigate, problem solve and innovate with energy, pace, and credibility.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

You will be managing the delivery of operational compensation and benefits activities. This will include pay structure management, voluntary benefits, and company cars. Alongside you will also be responsible for delivering strategic reward projects. You will be integral to HR, Operations, and our colleagues in providing a high-level input into analysis, identifying solutions and areas for change through submitting recommendations and building a business case for improvement.

In this role you will collaborate closely with the Centres of Excellence to provide the People team and key stakeholders with insights, trends, and challenges for solution focused recommendations to be made. Using your experience of working in Projects you will be involved and leading complex and diverse Compensation and Benefits changes.

You will be driven by Innovation and Quality and will ensure that pay related compliance and legislation is managed and monitored through continued development of our policies, clear communication, and engagement of key stakeholders. You will be instrumental in providing reward and benefit innovation and guidance to the people team, key stakeholders, and colleagues throughout the business.

We are looking for you to have a consultative and investigative approach to Reward, Compensation and Benefits utilising both internal and external insights, managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers and consultancies to ensure accurate mapping of data and trends understanding the dependencies into Payroll, People Services and HRIS. You will have experience of working in a Unionised environment and confident in providing guidance in complex areas such as pay negotiations and contracts.

Essential Ingredients

  • Significant experience of working within a fast-paced HR team within Reward, Compensation & Benefits ideally within a Centres of Excellence
  • A Reward specialist able to demonstrate strong project management, presentation, and organisational skills with a consultative approach
  • Experienced in analysing trends, creation of the business case and presenting the outputs to enable and support robust business decision making
  • Experience of working with cross-functional, matrix and complex stakeholder groups in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience and understanding of salary review processes, job matching, and job evaluation principles is essential
  • Experience of managing third-party supplier relationships with the ability to summarise qualitative research from multiple sources.
  • An excellent relationship builder with a collaborative approach, establishing credibility, competence, and confidence with both internal and external contacts at a senior level.
  • A team player with a commitment to delivering a high level of internal customer service.
