The Recipe

Are you a Warehouse Manager, a Transport Manager or a Team Manager, with experience of working in a fast-paced operations environment? Are you looking to progress your career or up for a new challenge? Ever considered Warburtons?

We’re currently recruiting for a Depot Team Manager to take our site to the next level! At our Bristol site, we’re looking for someone to lead our busy operation, ensuring the daily transport plan is achieved safely, on time all whilst adhering to compliance regulations. This role will take responsibility of up to 20 drivers.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

  • To manage a team of Drivers and Warehouse Team Members to ensure that all orders are fulfilled on time and in full with a continuous drive for improvement in Customer Service
  • To ensure all colleagues and contractors comply with Health, Safety and Environment, Quality and Food Safety legislation, policies and standards. Initiating required action so that the department continues to drive and develop the Health, Safety and Environment Culture
  • Maintain compliance to transport operator’s and driver regulations (and Warburtons Distribution Manual) ensuring continued legal transport operation
  • Manages a team Warehouse Team Members and Primary Drivers, taking responsibility for all people management activities throughout the employee lifecycle of their team in order to drive improved performance building a positive and motivated team where everyone is engaged.

Essential Ingredients

  • Previous experience of operating at a management level within a distribution company (desirable)
  • Previous experience as a Team Manager, or Key Operative with experience in managing teams, coaching and mentoring
  • Operator License regulations
  • Key responsibilities identified from the Distribution Manual
  • Tachograph and WTD regulations
  • A good working knowledge of SAP, specifically WM module
  • Good working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment and Food Safety Legislation / BRC standards
  • Excellent communication skills, articulate and able to develop effective, long-term relationships with key stakeholders / peers
  • Ability to influence using a range of styles to suit the situation
  • Analytical and organised in approach with good problem-solving skills
  • Basic project management skills
  • Driver telematics systems (Nav-man / Microlised)
