The Recipe
You'll control and optimise the engineering stores and processes to provide cost efficient & effective manufacturing operations.
The Role
- Safety - Accountable for own and team’s adherence to relevant safety standard across all activities (including external contractors)
- Drive asset reliability through comprehensive criticality based spare part holding.
- Data integrity of Spare Parts register maintained and all parts documented as A, B or C classifications. with relevant stock checks & parts kitting
- Ensure service contracts/external supplier relationships are maintained and supplier effectiveness is reviewed.
Essential Ingredients
- SAP/CMMS Knowledge/understanding, desirable.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Attending/holding supplier reviews.
- Safe and efficient management of all storage areas.
- Management of engineering consumables/lubricants.
- Management of stock within stores policies.
- Financial knowledge and data analysis.
- Engineering knowledge and understanding of Mean Time to Repair, zero stock outs, just in time, Stock availability, Stock Turnover, Stock vs Asset replacement Value
- Desirable – L3 Apprenticeship
- Knowledge and experience of stores management in an FMCG environment.
- Health and Safety / Food Safety systems & legislation knowledge e.g. IOSH – able to ensure a safe working environment.
- IT knowledge – able to use widespread functions within relevant software inc. Microsoft Office, SAP.
- Communication skills – articulate/develops effective, long-term relationships with key people.
- Analysing and problem-solving skills – anticipates problems before they occur, takes steps to deal with them/correctly & swiftly identifies the underlying problem & appropriate solutions, based on analysis of data.
- Decision making skills – works collaboratively to make decisions with the input of the wider team.
