The Recipe

At Warburtons, family is at the heart of everything we do—and that includes how we support our Engineering teams to keep our bakeries running smoothly.

We’re looking for an Engineering Stores Administrator to join our team on a 9-month fixed term contract, supporting the safe, efficient and effective running of our Engineering function.

In this role, you’ll be the backbone of our Engineering Stores and administration activity—keeping everything organised, accurate and running like clockwork. From managing parts inventory and supporting SAP processes to producing KPI reports and coordinating admin activity, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Engineering team can focus on what they do best.

Working closely with the Engineering Stores Controller and the wider Engineering team, you’ll help shape and embed strong processes as we bring our Stores operation back in-house.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Coordinating Engineering Administration

    • Managing day-to-day admin activity and workload allocation
    • Supporting cross-skilling to ensure cover for holidays and absence
    • Maintaining a high level of customer service across teams
  • Engineering Stores

    • Ensuring all parts are accurately identified, stored, and easy to locate
    • Supporting stock control and maintaining accurate records
    • Driving efficient and organised stores processes
  • Supporting Systems & Spend

    • Managing Engineering spend administration and supporting SAP processes
    • Liaising with central teams to resolve system or data issues
    • Supporting IT systems across Engineering, Hygiene and Production
  • Reporting & Insight

    • Producing weekly KPI and spend reports
    • Delivering accurate data and ad hoc reports to support decision-making
    • Supporting meetings with note taking and action tracking
  • Driving Standards & Compliance

    • Ensuring Engineering admin and stores procedures are followed
    • Promoting continuous improvement across processes and systems

Essential Ingredients

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Strong administrative experience in a fast-paced environment (ideally Engineering, Manufacturing or Supply Chain)
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills—you’ll love keeping things structured and on track
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and report on data
  • Experience of SAP or similar ERP systems (highly desirable)
  • A proactive approach with great attention to detail
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders across teams

Alongside this, you’ll:

  • Have a strong understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Champion fair, inclusive and respectful ways of working

Extra Dough

Last, but by no means least, you’ll want to know what your bread is worth:

  • A slice of the annual profits (discretionary profit share)
  • Family time is important to us so as well as your holiday entitlement, we'll give you the opportunity to purchase up to an extra weeks annual leave
  • Award winning pension scheme with company contributions
  • Life assurance
  • Products you will love along with deals and discounts for you and the family through our Extra Dough website
  • Continued investment in your personal development
  • Fully stocked kitchens filled with our delicious products for you to enjoy with your daily brew!
  • Support for your health and wellbeing, including access to free physiotherapy, 24/7 access to a confidential helpline for practical advice and a comprehensive occupational health service
