Salary: £21,500 + £3,300 London Allowance
Kick‑start your future with our Level 3 Food Industry Technologist Apprenticeship. This two-year programme offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and advance your career within the food and drink industry. As part of your learning, you’ll attend sessions at the University of Nottingham, which will require occasional overnight stays. Therefore, flexibility to travel and stay away from home is essential. All travel, accommodation and meals for in‑person weeks are covered by Warburtons.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you’ll transition into a permanent role as a Compliance Coordinator with Warburtons - marking the start of an exciting new chapter in your professional development.
The Recipe
- Reviewing overnight performance and customer feedback to help spot food safety trends.
- Filing and maintaining key manufacturing records for due diligence.
- Carrying out routine checks such as glass and hard plastic audits.
- Supporting internal audits and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) checks across site.
- Helping close customer complaints and developing confidence using systems like CRM, Ecorline and Ecotix.
- Maintaining document control systems and ensuring compliance records are always accurate.
- Working closely with teams across Production, Hygiene and Technical to solve problems and share updates.
- Building strong relationships - because in our bakery, teamwork is the secret ingredient.
Essential Ingredients
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- A genuine interest in food manufacturing and what goes into making safe, high‑quality products.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and willingness to learn new digital systems.
- Minimum GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science.
- A proactive approach to following instructions and procedures.
- Clear communication skills - able to explain findings and speak confidently in group settings.
- An analytical mindset - able to spot trends, solve problems and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in applying standards.
- Flexibility and adaptability - comfortable working at pace in a reactive environment.
- A collaborative, professional approach - able to build relationships and handle tough conversations with tact.
- A drive to learn, question, and continuously improve.

About Us
Our Enfield Bakery and Distribution site is one of the largest bakeries in Europe! We have 5 operating plants and around 500 colleagues who work a variety of shift patterns. At Enfield we have 40 different nationalities working together, and we celebrate our One Team family values. Our site runs 363 days of the year and operates 24/7!
Based in Brimsdown in North London, 15 minutes from M25, 10 minutes’ walk from Brimsdown overground, connected easily to Liverpool Street Station via Tottenham Hale.
We produce over 4.8 million crumpets per week, which is equivalent to 800,000 packets of 6 as well as producing a variety of other products. The Home of the Giant Crumpet, did you know there are 350 holes in a standard crumpet?
