Are you an Assistant Finance Manager and ready for a new challenge?


Working alongside the Finance Manager and Site Leadership Team, you’ll be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis to all areas of the business.

The Recipe


As part of our operations finance team, you will take ownership of core finance processes to deliver the weekly and period accounts for the Stockton site. This role will also support the wider business on national initiatives/projects and be able to provide AFM cover for other sites.

Working alongside our Site Finance Manager you will be instrumental in the preparation of site budget and business plans that will sit locally but will be a part of our national strategy.

With a good knowledge and understanding of management accounting; you’ll prepare weekly and period end accounts and supporting analysis/reports, post journals and accruals, perform routine tasks during the financial period, complete necessary regulatory returns, produce KPIs & ad hoc reports.

With your keen eye for detail, you’ll be responsible for reconciliations of the period end balance sheet and investigating and resolving any differences. Production of monthly P&L and controllable cost packs for review and signoff by the Finance Manager. You’ll also play a key role in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

Continuous improvement is championed, with the opportunity to drive improvements in finance processes, controls, and tax. Crucially, you will be using your excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity where you can put your own stamp on the role. You will be the sole finance representative on site and able to contribute to the decision-making process.

There will be the occasional need to travel to other Warburtons sites as part of the job therefore you must have a valid UK driving licence.

Essential Ingredients


  • Previous accounting experience
  • CIMA part qualified or equivalent
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manipulate and interpret data clearly and concisely to finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage a demanding and varied workload, to strict deadlines.
