Are you a Learning and Development Advisor or L&D Specialist and looking for your next challenge? Are you passionate about delivering learning and coaching to drive business growth and performance, and are committed to outstanding people development?

We are transforming our Learning and Development team and looking for an inspiring and capable Learning Delivery Professional to support our Manufacturing and Distribution teams in building essential skills for the future. 

Working alongside our People Partner and our HR and Talent, Learning & Culture team in collaboration with our Bakeries & Depots across the Yorkshire and North East region; you will lead and deliver the Operations L&D agenda aimed at raising operational capability and developing leaders across our teams.

Ideally you will be based a commutable distance from our Wakefield site and able to travel to the North East as required.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

It is an exciting time to be joining our Learning team, our business is transforming, and we have recently made changes to develop a learning culture that supports the transformation through building the desired behaviours and capabilities of our team.

As a Learning & Development Advisor, you will work in collaboration with the Management and HR teams to identify development needs, designing and delivering engaging solutions, using blended approaches, to meet the learners needs. Technology plays a key role in our future and we have recently launched a Learning Management System (LMS) to support this.

You will Champion the Learning and Development agenda across the region, working with our site trainers to ensure all operational and health & safety training requirements are met and delivered consistently with excellence.

With a focus on both developing the people management fundamentals of our line managers and ensuring we develop the core skills and competencies across all our operational teams. You will work in collaboration, able to assess and develop plans to address learning needs, ensuring they are aligned to the National L&D strategy and through implementing the annual L&D plan and utilising the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure that processes are managed, and accurate training records are maintained.

You will contribute to the design and development of learning solutions, working in partnership with the Learning Content Designer and business teams to ensure effective learning methodologies are applied and consistent design standards are met. 

Working with our Operations teams, you will be able to coach and develop the capability of all Operations skills trainers, to ensure high standards and consistency of delivery are met and with a responsibility to develop junior operational talent, including next generation talent (apprentices), contributing to the development of an internal pipeline for operations

Essential Ingredients

  • An expert in Learning and Development
  • Ability to use coaching and mentoring approaches in learning
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to promote the value of a learning culture
  • Excellent knowledge of the learning cycle and experience in its implementation
  • Excellent understanding of accelerated learning techniques and adult learning theories and confident in using this to design and deliver engaging development solutions
  • Experience of working with Learning Technologies and embraces a range of blended learning solutions
  • Knowledge of management development theory, models and best practice
  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations to ensure a consistent service is provided across both Manufacturing and Distribution teams. A driving licence will be required.
