The Recipe
Responsible for ensuring the condition of internal and external building fabric is maintained to the relevant standards required by a food manufacturing premises.
Key Accountabilities and Measures
- Conform to health and safety policies and standards so that all work is undertaken to internal and legislative standards.
- Regular inspections in place which identify and risk to internal and external standards.
- Accountable for ensuring all building standards meet internal and external compliance levels.
- Conform to food safety and quality management system standards so that the site produces products which are safe and do not put consumers at risk.
Essential Ingredients
- Essential – time management and ability to prioritise own workload
- Decision making skills - uses judgement to refer decisions to a higher authority where appropriate.
- Plumbing & pipe fitting skills - completes work to an acceptable standard. Able to identify, specify and order spares as required.
- Electrical work - skilled and competent to conduct work such as changing lamps and tubes, and minor electrical works such as changing light fittings in a safe manner, replacing socket and switch fronts in a safe manner.
- General maintenance and repairs of site amenities.
